Job Title: ECE Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and caring ECE Assistant to join our team at Horizon School Inc.

Job Summary

The ECE Assistant will work under the supervision of early childhood educators to provide high-quality care and education to children in our childcare programs. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a safe and engaging environment that promotes the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist early childhood educators in planning and implementing child-care programs that support the development of children.
  • Provide care and supervision to children, including bathing, diapering, and feeding infants and toddlers.
  • Engage children in activities that promote learning and development, such as storytelling, singing, and crafts.
  • Assist with housekeeping and cooking duties, and maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Communicate with parents and guardians to keep them informed about their child's progress and any issues that may arise.
  • Participate in staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children.
  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children.
Requirements
  • College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years.
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a childcare setting.
  • Basic security clearance, criminal record check, Child Abuse Registry check, immunization records, and vulnerable sector check.
Work Environment

The ECE Assistant will work in a child care centre in an urban area, providing care and education to children in before and after school programs.
