The Nova Scotia Health Authority (NSHA) is seeking a dedicated Zone Medical Department Head. In this pivotal role, you will provide both strategic and operational oversight to guarantee exceptional patient care standards. This is a permanent position offering a competitive compensation package.

Position Overview
  • Directly report to the Zone Medical Executive Director while collaborating with an Administrative Co-Lead
  • Oversee the clinical management of patients within the zone department
  • Ensure adherence to NSH Policies and Medical Staff Bylaws
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the administrative operations of the department
  • Collaborate with Hospitalist Site Leads and operational management to maintain service continuity
  • Participate in the Zone Medical Advisory Committee to provide insights on care quality and resource distribution
  • Facilitate the implementation of clinical and educational initiatives within the department
  • Engage in meetings and offer leadership for strategic planning and budget management
Required Qualifications
  • MD licensable in Nova Scotia
  • 3-5 years of experience in medical department leadership roles
