Job Summary

The Maintenance Technician is a key member of the Germain Hôtels team, responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities. Under the supervision of the Maintenance Manager, this role involves the execution of preventive and corrective maintenance of the building, including boiler systems, pumps, ventilation systems, electrical, plumbing, water and sewage systems, and other general maintenance work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including inspections, repairs, and replacements of systems and components.
  • Ensure that all maintenance work is performed in accordance with established safety protocols and procedures.
  • Collaborate with the Maintenance Manager to develop and implement maintenance schedules and plans.
  • Assist in the training and supervision of junior maintenance staff.
  • Conduct regular inspections to identify potential maintenance issues and develop corrective action plans.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, inventory, and equipment maintenance.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance maintenance processes and procedures.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of boiler systems, pumps, ventilation systems, electrical, plumbing, water and sewage systems, and other general maintenance work.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in a related field an asset.
