Counsellor - Community Support Team

The Counsellor in this role will work with children and youth who are experiencing social and emotional challenges, as well as behavioural difficulties impacting the mental and physical health of the family.
Key Responsibilities- Assess and treat children and youth using a strength-based, solution-focused, and family-centered approach.
- Coordinate and facilitate groups for various age groups based on service demand.
- Work effectively with children, youth, and families in a therapeutic goal-oriented way.
- Develop and implement evidence-informed clinical interventions for children, youth, and families.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, collateral agencies, and professionals to provide comprehensive support.
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work or a related field.
- Current registration with a regulated professional college (RSW, RP).
- Equivalent combinations of training and experience may be considered.
- Skills in cognitive-based, post-crisis intervention, solution-focused, and brief therapy techniques.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and occasional weekends.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data MIS systems.
- Valid Ontario driver's license and ability to travel within the district of Algoma.
