Position Summary
As a Rehabilitation Physiotherapy Assistant in the Neuro/Stroke Medicine unit, your primary responsibility will be to execute treatment plans established by the supervising occupational and/or physical therapist. Assist with patient transfers, demonstrating safe lifting techniques and proper body mechanics to nursing staff and families. Facilitate individual Activities of Daily Living (ADL) training to promote patient independence as instructed by the occupational therapist. Conduct therapeutic activity groups under the supervision of an occupational therapist on a regular basis. Organize and manage therapy equipment and supplies. Ensure cleanliness and maintenance of therapy equipment and spaces. Complete documentation and workload data promptly. Serve as a mentor to Occupational Therapy Assistant/Physiotherapy Assistant students.
