We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Certified Social Worker to join our team at the Thunder Bay Indigenous Friendship Centre. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for providing social work services to Indigenous individuals and families in our community.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of Indigenous cultural practices and be able to work effectively with Indigenous clients. You will be responsible for assessing client needs, developing and implementing individualized plans, and providing counseling and therapy services to support clients in achieving their goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess client needs and develop individualized plans to support clients in achieving their goals
  • Provide counseling and therapy services to support clients in addressing social and personal issues
  • Work with clients to identify and access community resources and services
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community partners and stakeholders
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of program plans and policies
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Social Work or related field
  • Certified Social Worker (CSW) designation
  • Experience working with Indigenous populations and communities
  • Strong understanding of Indigenous cultural practices and protocols
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
