Newmont Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Underground Mine Engineer to join our team in Timmins, ON. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for maintaining mine plans and schedules to ensure production goals are achieved or exceeded in a cost-effective manner.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain mine plans and schedules to optimize production and minimize dilution.
- Provide guidance to operating departments to maximize production, plan their activities, and accurately measure key mining parameters.
- Oversee planning activities to ensure layouts are safe, effective, and on time.
- Assist mine planning teams with economic analyses for designated ore zones to optimize margins.
- Complete stope reconciliations to verify quality and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Registered Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario and in good standing order with PEO, or equivalent in other jurisdictions.
- A Bachelor of Science in Mining Engineering or equivalent engineering degree.
- 3-5 years of mine engineering experience.
- Strong Deswik Skills – (CAD, IS, and Scheduler).
- Able to mentor and motivate the planning team.
- Have strong communication and people skills.
- Be focused, clear, and decisive.
This is a site-based position in Timmins, ON.
The schedule is 4 days on, 3 days off.
