We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Healthcare Support Worker to join our team at Island View Place Care. As a key member of our care team, you will provide high-quality patient care and support to our residents.

Job Summary:

The Healthcare Support Worker will be responsible for providing direct care to patients, including assisting with daily living activities, administering medications, and maintaining a safe and clean environment. You will work closely with our interdisciplinary team to ensure that our residents receive the best possible care.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist patients with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare professionals
  • Provide emotional support and companionship to patients
  • Maintain a safe and clean environment, including cleaning and disinfecting equipment and surfaces
  • Assist with meal preparation and serving
  • Transport patients to and from activities and appointments
  • Perform other duties as assigned by healthcare professionals
Requirements:
  • Completion of a Health Care Aide program or equivalent
  • Current certification in CPR and First Aid
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to lift and move patients as needed
