About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Financial Analyst, Retail to join our team at Arc'teryx. As a key member of our Accounting Team, you will play a critical role in supporting the business through its hyper-growth stage of retail expansion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead as the key point of contact for inquiries relating to store portfolio, store openings/closures, store leases, store performance, etc.
  • Partner with FP&A and S4 Team on tasks such as completeness of sales, systems testing, set up of store numbers and cost centres.
  • Perform retail reporting monthly to certify relevant returns provisions are calculated, retail bank recs are complete, and ensure reasonability of P&Ls.
  • Build of retail lease process from inception to end through collaboration with Real Estate, Shared Services, Retail FP&A to ensure relevant data points are captured for accurate reporting of GLs and clearing accounts.
  • Provide guidance on leases under IFRS 16 and ensuring process and entries are in accordance with IFRS.
  • Address issues with rent, liability drawdowns, tenant allowances, security deposits, store closures.
  • Create key account reconciliations across systems including our lease reporting tool, S4, and Oracle.
  • Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations for relevant accounts to confirm integrity, accuracy, and timely addressing of any issues or unusual balances.
  • Support continuous improvement and innovation within the Finance team and exemplify a willingness to move things forward.
Future Opportunities

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance/Accounting or an equivalent field; A CPA professional accounting designation is required.
  • 4-5+ years' of accounting experience in either public accounting, industry or other relevant related experience.
  • Relevant experience with retail accounting, including knowledge of IFRS16, and potentially also good knowledge of SAP.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capability to address issues in accounting treatment and process, with excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with individuals across departments.
  • Ability to conceptualize how accounting processes and operational flows are to be established, across systems to ensure accurate reporting.
  • Keenness to build process and controls, and to share knowledge with the business.
  • Strong written and oral communication in English. Further languages are a plus.
  • Positive, with a proactive attitude and an eagerness to lead new initiatives.
  • Ability to work independently, but also the ability to work cross-functionally and bridge gaps across departments.
