Job Title: Director of Food Science and Innovation

Skjodt-Barrett Foods is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Food Science and Innovation to lead our research and development team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for driving innovation and growth through the development of new food products and processes.

About the Role:
  • Lead cross-functional teams to develop and implement new product ideas and processes
  • Collaborate with our sales, procurement, and operations teams to meet customer demands and drive business growth
  • Develop and implement effective systems and procedures to manage multiple projects in the sales and innovation pipeline
  • Guide the team in meeting operational standards for quality, cost, food safety, and sustainability
  • Lead the change management process to encourage adopting and engaging with new operating processes and best practices in product development
Requirements:
  • Background in Food Science and experience in the food processing industry, specifically in product design and development
  • Proven track record of leading cross-functional teams and creating and implementing product development strategies
  • Ability to work in a high-speed manufacturing facility and participate in trials
  • Strong technical knowledge and ability to stay informed about market trends and emerging ingredients
