Key Responsibilities
  • Staff Supervision: Supervise and manage a team of sales staff, including apprentices, stages hands, and design team members, to ensure that they are meeting their performance goals and providing excellent customer service.
  • Sales Floor Management: Assign sales staff to duties, manage sales floor operations, and maintain a clean and organized store environment.
  • Staff Development: Hire, train, and develop staff members to ensure that they have the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in their roles.
  • Financial Management: Authorize payments by cheque, manage cash handling, and maintain accurate financial records.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Prepare regular reports on sales volumes, merchandising, and personnel matters to inform business decisions.
  • Customer Service: Resolve customer complaints and issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Inventory Management: Organize and maintain inventory levels to ensure that the store is well-stocked and that customers have access to the products they need.
  • Payroll Administration: Oversee payroll administration, including processing payroll, managing benefits, and ensuring compliance with employment laws.
  • Performance Management: Conduct regular performance reviews to evaluate staff performance and provide feedback for improvement.
Requirements
  • Education: College or CEGEP diploma.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a retail management role, or equivalent experience.
  • Language: English language proficiency.
  • Work Hours: 30 to 40 hours per week.
