Job Summary

This role is responsible for assisting instructors in the performance of their duties by performing a wide variety of tasks including preparing and assisting with demonstrations, supervising students, monitoring lab/clinic operations, coordinating regular maintenance activities and maintaining inventory of supplies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist instructors with demonstrations, day-to-day operations, and equipment maintenance.
  • Supervise students, monitor activities, and invigilate student examinations.
  • Organize and maintain inventory of equipment and supplies.
  • Coordinate monthly maintenance activities and assist with equipment repairs.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly lab environment, including hazardous waste management.
  • Ensure compliance with WCB and WHIMIS legislation.
  • Provide information on capital equipment and collaborate with instructors to address issues.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A 2-year Community College program in a relevant discipline and 2 years' related experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Current CDA registration and practicing license with the College of Dental Surgeons (for Dental Assisting).
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage a considerable workload.
  • Knowledge of competencies and experience working with students in an educational setting.
