The Recreation, Cultural and Facility Services department at the City of Ottawa is seeking a qualified Fitness Instructor to lead specialized group fitness and fitness-related classes in identified programs.
Responsibilities- Provide instruction for a wide variety of specialized group fitness and fitness-related classes in accordance with corporate and departmental policies and procedures.
- Ensure a safe and fun environment for participants.
- Develop and maintain knowledge of fitness programs and services offered by the City of Ottawa.
- Completion of Grade 10 and current fitness certification from a recognized fitness certification organization.
- Minimum of 6 months of experience or equivalent apprenticeship.
- Knowledge of applicable health and safety legislation, including the rights and duties of workers.
- Knowledge base, skills and training necessary to lead variety of fitness classes.
- Ability to speak clearly and actively listen.
- Flexible and creative approach to instruction.
- Competitive hourly rate.
