Director of Communications and Public Affairs

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director, Communications and Public Affairs to join our team at Headwaters Health Care Centre. As a key member of our Senior Leadership Team, you will play a critical role in shaping the hospital's reputation and promoting its mission to provide excellent care, close to home.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement comprehensive communications and public affairs strategies to advance the hospital's goals and objectives.
- Manage and maintain the hospital's online presence, including its website and social media channels.
- Develop and implement media relations plans to promote the hospital's services and achievements.
- Provide strategic counsel to the President & CEO and other senior leaders on communications and public affairs matters.
- Lead and manage a team of communications and public affairs professionals to achieve the hospital's goals and objectives.
- University degree in communications, public relations, marketing, or a related field.
- Minimum 7-10 years of experience in corporate communications or public relations, with a proven track record of success.
- Expert-level knowledge of marketing, social media, media relations, and public relations practices, strategies, and techniques.
- Strong writing and communication skills, with the ability to comprehend and translate medical and technical terminology into clear and concise language.
- Superior strategic and critical thinking skills, with the ability to evaluate potential risks and anticipate opportunities for the hospital.
- Excellent interpersonal and client service skills, with the ability to work effectively with a variety of stakeholders, including senior internal clients, patients, families, and caregivers.
