Mechanical Inspection Engineer Opportunity

Imperial is seeking a Mechanical Inspection Engineer to join our team in Sarnia, ON. As a key member of our Fixed Equipment Engineering team, you will play a critical role in maintaining the mechanical integrity of our assets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop a deep understanding of relevant Ontario/Canadian codes and standards, including CSA B51 and the Ontario Safety Codes Act and Regulations for Boiler and Pressure Vessels.
  • Assist with equipment calculations to support Fitness-for-Service assessments.
  • Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and vendor bid evaluations to ensure sound engineering and compliance with regulatory codes.
  • Contribute to the generation of proposals, scopes, schedules, and budgets for mechanical engineering work.
  • Support the development of mechanical specifications for routine and turnaround repair work, collaborating closely with Mechanical and Manufacturing Unit groups.

Requirements:

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Unofficial transcripts must be submitted with your application.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Commitment to safety on and off the job.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Highly motivated, enthusiastic, and results-oriented individuals who thrive in a collaborative environment.
  • A valid driver's license and a safe driving record.
