Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Community Health Coordinator to join our team at the Canadian Red Cross. In this role, you will work closely with our Occupational Therapist to coordinate the delivery of our Health Equipment Loan Program, including the Specialized Equipment Program and Transitional Care Unit pilot expansion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the day-to-day delivery of the Health Equipment Loan Program, including the Specialized Equipment Program and Transitional Care Unit pilot expansion.
- Liaise and build relationships with hospitals and long-term care facilities to ensure the successful delivery of the program.
- Maintain accurate inventory records of equipment loans, returns, and statistics in accordance with program policies.
- Coordinate administrative functions, including financial transactions and information flow to the public.
Requirements:
- Post-secondary education or diploma in a health-related field, with one to two years of job-related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Background as an Occupational Therapy Assistant or Rehabilitation Assistant is an asset.
- Ability to prioritize and organize multiple issues simultaneously in a complex client-based environment.
- Strong decision-making abilities, combined with strong organizational skills.
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral, in English.
- Demonstrated computer proficiency and administrative skills.
- Previous experience working with volunteers and seniors is considered an asset.
- Ability to perform medium to heavy lifting.
Working Conditions:
- Valid driver's license to travel within Nova Scotia and a satisfactory driver's abstract is required.
