Job Summary

The Procurement Manager will be responsible for managing the storeroom inventory and ensuring site compliance with corporate supplier agreements. This role will assist in planning, implementing, and managing the procurement of goods and services for a facility with a storeroom inventory of up to $2 million.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a coordinated materials management approach to inventory management and procurement.
  • Optimize inventory levels in the storeroom and monitor inventory usage to manage Key Performance Indicators (KPI's).
  • Manage and report the weekly/monthly spend for the site and oversee site compliance of corporate supply agreements.
  • Pull and kit maintenance work order parts, manage site order-to-pay process, and negotiate site-specific agreements as needed.
  • Develop and leverage buying capabilities through coordination of purchases and development of relationships with key suppliers.
  • Assist in overall cost reduction efforts of the site and monitor, track, and improve supplier performance metrics at plant and regional levels.
  • Team with key internal customers to meet their requirements for goods and services and communicate Supply Management strategies and projects at the site.
  • Develop long-term supplier relationships and supervise storeroom staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations.

Requirements

  • 2-3 years demonstrated procurement/supply management experience or any combination of experience and training that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position.
  • Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma skills, effective supervisory and management practices, and materials management plan metrics.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong supplier and site relationships and operate a computer and supporting software.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of effective materials management and inventory control, prior experience preferred.
  • LSS Black Belt or Green Belt and experience as a lead worker, team/project lead, or supervisor.

Education

  • High school diploma required, Associate's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field desirable.
