Position Summary
The Manufacturing Operations Manager will oversee the production processes within the facility, ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction while maintaining cost efficiency. This role encompasses the responsibility for a workforce of 50 employees, ensuring a safe and healthy workplace while meeting customer demands for quality and quantity.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct the management team to meet performance objectives and take accountability for all Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), production costs, labor efficiency, and overall results.
- Optimize the utilization of plant assets, including line loading, inventory control, and production scheduling.
- Identify and analyze variances from targets, ensuring that root causes are addressed with the involvement of all relevant stakeholders.
- Promote continuous improvement initiatives and ensure that progress towards KPIs is regularly measured and communicated to all plant personnel.
- Ensure that customer service goals are achieved by aligning manufacturing processes with all functional teams, from demand planning to delivery.
- Collaborate with internal and external suppliers and customers to maintain compliance with service level expectations.
- Develop and manage the plant's overhead budget and direct product cost objectives.
- Prepare and oversee capital expenditure plans, recommending and implementing improvements as necessary.
- Oversee all aspects of Quality Assurance, including HACCP and SQF standards.
- Stay informed about regulations affecting plant operations, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental laws.
- Set and monitor all regulatory audit targets to ensure compliance.
- Manage the performance of both hourly and salaried staff, implementing effective training and development programs.
- Accountable for achieving all targets related to KPIs, budget, and cost improvements.
Qualifications
- 5-10 years of senior management experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment (experience in recycling or related sectors is a plus).
- Strong interpersonal and leadership abilities to effectively organize and direct teams.
- Decisive and action-oriented, with a proven history of leading projects that yield significant cost reductions.
- Alignment with the company’s values and mission, with a strong commitment to continuous improvement and lean manufacturing principles.
- Highly analytical, proficient in using office automation tools for data analysis and decision-making.
