Exciting Career Opportunity
We are seeking a highly skilled Journeyman Red Seal Pipefitter to join our team at our Edmonton Plant. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing process fluid systems, plant utility systems, and piping systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair process fluid systems, including pneumatic, hydraulic, and heating systems.
- Maintain and repair plant utility systems, including sprinklers, steam, water, compressed air, and hot oil systems.
- Cut, thread, bend, and assemble pipe, tubing, and fittings.
- Fit up and prepare piping for required welded joints.
- Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine layout requirements.
- Measure, cut, and thread pipe to required shape using hand and power tools.
- Install supports, valves, and piping.
- Test systems for leaks using testing equipment.
- Clean and maintain pipe units and fittings and flush systems.
- Perform preventative maintenance on mechanical equipment.
- Run piping and retrofit existing water lines.
- Remove and replace worn components and reactivate systems.
- Perform all duties in accordance with Saint-Gobain's safety program standards and Alberta Occupational Health and Safety Act, Regulations, and Code.
- Liaise and collaborate with other trades.
- Perform other duties as required.
Requirements
- Ticket required – Industrial pipe fitter / Steam Fitter.
- Steamfitter – Pipefitter / Steam Fitter Red Seal Certificate (preferred).
- 5+ years experience as a Journeyman Pipefitter.
- Experience in a Steam and Gas manufacturing environment.
- Experience with Pneumatic and Hydraulic systems.
- Experience with Dry Valve (fire systems).
- Knowledge of applicable Pipe / Steam Fitter codes, standards, and regulations.
- Experience with bending copper tubing in preparation for steam tracing.
- Basic computer skills.
- Must be customer focused, self-starter, and work well with others.
- Experience working with vendors and making purchase requests.
