Reporting to the Director Environmental & Social (E&S) Risk Analytics - Data Strategy and Governance, the Associate Director will be responsible for data & model governance, model inventory management, developing and managing control activities, assessing process completeness and compliance with internal and regulatory standards, and assisting with data and model monitoring activities.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the design, development, and maintenance of data and model governance, ensuring compliance with relevant Bank standards and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in design sessions to provide input, gather, and document requirements.
- Contribute to Enterprise Model Risk Management (EMRM) submissions, including documentation.
- Lead governance-related activities, including issue management and preparation of issue memo closures.
- Develop control frameworks, guidelines, and procedures.
- Design and implement controls and quality assurance tools.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of model monitoring reports.
- Degree in a quantitative field of study (e.g., Statistics, Finance, Economics, Computer Science).
- Expertise in programming and querying languages (e.g., SQL, Python).
- Strong knowledge and experience in Data Management, Model Governance, and Risk concepts.
- Prior working experience with model risk management frameworks, quality assurance frameworks, risk mitigation, and issue remediation.
- Strong knowledge of data quality controls and procedures documentation.
- Effective communication and presentation skills (written and verbal).
- Ability to adapt to a constantly evolving and fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to quality and accuracy with a high level of attention to detail.
- Strategic thinking skills with proven ability to drive results in a cross-functional environment.
- Strong organizational awareness, demonstrated ability to anticipate risks and issues and escalate when required.
- Proven collaboration, impact, influence, and change management capabilities across business, IT, and functions.
- Knowledge of E&S data landscape: common challenges and available solutions.
- Risk management experience, particularly in relation to E&S.
This role is part of the Group Risk Management (GRM) team and reports to the Director Environmental & Social (E&S) Risk Analytics - Data Strategy and Governance.
The preferred candidate should have a quantitative background and will be a key contributor in reviewing model development processes.
