Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Facility Maintenance Technician to join our team at Executive Residency by Best Western. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation and upkeep of our establishment.

Qualifications
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Experience: Previous experience is considered an asset
Work Environment

The position is based in a hospitality setting, including hotels, motels, and resorts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain cleanliness by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and waxing floors, hallways, and stairs.
  • Utilize industrial vacuum cleaners to effectively remove debris and refuse.
  • Ensure windows, interior walls, and ceilings are washed and maintained.
  • Make minor adjustments and repairs to heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing, and electrical systems, while coordinating with tradespersons for major repairs.
  • Engage with contractors for necessary repairs and maintenance tasks.
  • Conduct minor appliance repairs as needed.
  • Perform regular safety and security inspections.
  • Assist in moving heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies.
  • Carry out routine maintenance tasks, including painting and drywall repairs.
  • Clean and disinfect bathrooms and fixtures regularly.
  • Clear snow and ice from walkways and parking areas.
  • Coordinate, assign, and review maintenance work as necessary.
Technical Skills

Proficiency in MS Outlook is required.

Safety and Security
  • Must pass a criminal record check.
  • Basic security clearance is necessary.
Transportation

Public transportation options are available for commuting.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks and engage in physically demanding work.
  • Comfortable with bending, crouching, and kneeling.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
  • Willingness to manage a large workload and meet tight deadlines.

Work Conditions
