Senior Accountant

About the Role
MNP is a leading national accounting, tax, and business consulting firm for Indigenous Nations, businesses, and entrepreneurs in Canada. We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join our Indigenous EASE Services team, dedicated to serving the unique needs of Indigenous communities.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate the proposal, planning, and delivery of client engagements, including project logistics
- Conduct thorough business and program assessments, focusing on people, processes, and technology to identify and mitigate potential risks
- Deliver exceptional client service, ensuring timely, accurate, and professional responses to business development and project-related requests
- Complete business process mapping and analysis to drive improved outcomes
- Innovate and contribute new ideas to enhance work processes and efficiencies
- Bring expertise with cloud accounting software to support clients and team members with proficiency
- Support clients in implementing new financial software and provide ongoing support to ensure long-term success
Requirements
- Three to five years of business experience in a client-service environment with a preference for experience with Indigenous Peoples, communities, or organizations
- Solid understanding of full-cycle bookkeeping, including trial balances, general ledger databases, and financial statement processes, with demonstrated project management skills
- CPA or CAFM designation an asset
- Related certifications are advantageous
- Flexibility to travel to engage with clients in-person, as needed
