Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Educational Assistant to join our team at Greater St. Albert Catholic Schools. As an Educational Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with social-emotional behavioral challenges, mild to moderate learning needs, and/or medical needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist students with social-emotional behavioral challenges, mild to moderate learning needs, and/or medical needs
  • Implement student Individual Program Plans and support the use of assistive technology devices for communication
  • Model and teach students' social skills and emotional regulation
  • Support the use of Google Apps for Education and other educational tools
  • Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to provide a comprehensive support system for students
Requirements
  • Completion of the Education Assistant Program at MacEwan University or equivalent post-secondary training
  • Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training an asset
  • Experience with assisting with the implementation of student Individual Program Plans
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, flexibility, and ability to work well with a strong, interdisciplinary team
  • Ability to be involved in a wide variety of activities that require some level of physical activity
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge and experience working with diverse learners who are on the autism spectrum
