Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Medical Device Technician to join our team at Fraser Health. As a key member of our Sterile Supply Processing department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient processing of medical devices and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Receive, sort, and process medical devices and equipment, including cleaning, decontaminating, and sterilizing
  • Operate and maintain departmental equipment, including automated washers, cart washer, pasteurizer, ultrasonic washer, clean dryer, heat sealer, and sterilizers
  • Prepare equipment and supplies for storage and distribution, including checking, testing, calibrating, assembling, packaging, wrapping, and sterilizing
  • Perform routine maintenance of departmental equipment, including cleaning, checking, and testing sterilizers, mechanical washers, and other MDR equipment
  • Participate in the Department's Quality Assurance Program and maintain accurate records
  • Perform clerical duties, including assisting with recording of workload statistics, answering the telephone, completing maintenance requisitions, and maintaining records
Requirements
  • Grade 12, plus successful completion of a recognized Sterile Supply Processing program, plus one year's recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to deal effectively with others
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position
  • Ability to operate related equipment
  • Knowledge of surgical and medical terminology
  • Mathematical aptitude
  • Ability to organize work
