Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada ERM Group Full time

At ERM, our consultants play a pivotal role in steering and enhancing successful consulting projects, fostering marketing initiatives, and contributing to the growth and evolution of our team, systems, and organizational culture. Working in close collaboration with Senior Advisors, our consultants typically specialize in specific advisory service areas while maintaining the flexibility to support various sectors as required—this adaptability is a cornerstone of ERM's success.

ROLE OVERVIEW

We are seeking a Senior Advisor to become part of a dedicated team focused on initiatives within Inuit Nunangat, addressing themes of Indigenous self-determination, reconciliation, and socio-economic advancement in collaborative, multi-stakeholder settings. Given the interconnected nature of these subjects, there may be opportunities to broaden the scope of work to additional regions across Canada, should this align with your interests. Your responsibilities will encompass nurturing existing client relationships while also identifying and cultivating new business opportunities.

The Senior Advisor, Inuit Nunangat will be responsible for:

  • Facilitating the design, execution, and reporting of both in-person and virtual engagements (e.g., workshops, meetings, interviews), along with providing technical assistance for online meetings.
  • Enhancing engagement outcomes by performing desktop research and literature reviews to support the creation of background and meeting materials.
  • Coordinating engagements through outreach to participants, monitoring attendance, and distributing relevant materials.
  • Contributing to business development and marketing efforts at ERM by researching client needs, preparing promotional materials, and participating in proposal development.
  • Employing critical and strategic thinking to influence the effectiveness of our work and the results for our clients.
GROWTH OPPORTUNITIES

ERM provides a meaningful work experience with opportunities for personal and professional growth, allowing you to lead and contribute to areas that resonate with you.

  • Your contributions may be felt on a personal level—whether by leading a project from inception to completion or collaborating within a vibrant, dynamic team that values work-life balance.
  • You will influence the capacity of ERM's clients to fulfill their mandates. We partner with a diverse array of organizations whose efforts can significantly advance or hinder sustainability and our collective pursuit of the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Your work at ERM will assist them in shaping and realizing their vital missions.

If you are passionate about Indigenous self-determination and reconciliation, particularly in relation to Inuit Nunangat, this position presents an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate eager to collaborate with an expert consulting team on engaging natural resource management projects. Our clientele includes a broad spectrum of corporate, governmental, and non-governmental organizations—we assist them in achieving positive and tangible social, environmental, and economic outcomes. Together, we are shaping a sustainable future alongside the world's leading organizations.

CANDIDATE PROFILE
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a field related to natural resource governance, sustainability, or Indigenous studies.
  • Relevant academic and/or professional experience concerning Inuit Nunangat and/or topics related to land claims and natural resource governance is advantageous.
  • Experience in synthesizing complex information into accessible summaries, facilitating multi-stakeholder engagement, and conducting in-person or virtual facilitation is highly desirable.
  • Experience working with Indigenous communities or organizations would be beneficial.
  • Prior consulting experience is highly valued.
Skills and Attributes

ERM seeks candidates who exhibit:

  • Proactivity, as shown by a readiness to embrace new tasks, advocate for new initiatives, and seek clarification when necessary.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, demonstrated through clear and respectful interactions with colleagues and clients.
  • Effective time management, prioritization, and organizational abilities.
  • Experience working independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Adeptness in conducting research (e.g., web-based, literature, surveys, and/or interviews), analyzing data, and presenting findings clearly and concisely.
  • Project management skills and experience would be an asset.

We invite you to submit your resume and a brief cover letter. Shortlisted candidates will be contacted for interviews.

ERM is committed to being an Equal Employment Opportunity employer. We do not discriminate based on race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, status as a protected veteran, status as an individual with a disability, or other legally protected characteristics.

Thank you for considering a career with ERM.
