About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Bookkeeper to join our team at Maple Route Logistics. As a Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and detailed financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.
  • Financial Statement Preparation: Prepare financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Accounting Standards Compliance: Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations, including GAAP and tax laws.
  • Payroll and Benefits Administration: Calculate and prepare cheques for payroll, maintain employee benefits records, and ensure compliance with employment laws.
  • Financial Analysis and Reporting: Analyze financial data, prepare financial reports, and provide recommendations for process improvements.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting.
  • Skills: Proficiency in accounting software, including Simply Accounting and Sage Accounting Software. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and ability to work independently.
Working Conditions

The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines, requiring strong organizational and time management skills. The ability to multitask and prioritize tasks is essential.
