About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Nurse Educator to join our Interprofessional Practice and Learning team at Nova Scotia Health Authority. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for assessing, implementing, and evaluating clinical knowledge to support the translation of knowledge to practice.

The successful candidate will demonstrate competency in practice, program design and implementation, monitoring and evaluation of education, leadership and professional practice. They will also exhibit the knowledge, attitudes and behaviors that align with the Interprofessional Practice and Learning Framework that supports collaborative person-centered care within Nova Scotia Health.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess, implement, and evaluate clinical knowledge to support the translation of knowledge to practice
  • Design and implement orientation and ongoing education programs that integrate a learner-centered approach
  • Provide advice, consultation, and support to advance practice and maintain and develop evidence-based standards of care
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to develop and implement education programs that meet the needs of our patients and staff

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Nursing/Bachelor of Science in Nursing required
  • Master of Nursing/Health Care/Education preferred
  • Active practicing license in good standing with NSCN required
  • A minimum of three years full-time clinical experience within the last five years in Simulation-Based Learning required
  • Relevant CNA/other specialty certification required or willingness to complete
  • BLS-C (HCP) certification required
  • Diploma or certificate in adult education an asset
  • Leadership Development Education an asset
  • Previous teaching experience which involves designing, implementing and evaluating both traditional and non-traditional methods of instruction preferred
  • Recent experience as a Clinical Nurse Educator/Nursing Instructor preferred
