First Nations Community Claims Administrators
Indigenous - Remote - Full Time

The Claims Administrators will engage with Indigenous communities across Canada, focusing on support for First Nations Child and Family Services and Jordan's Principle class action.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Offer assistance to individuals with professionalism throughout the claims submission process.
  2. Build and maintain relationships with claimants.
  3. Guide claimants in completing necessary documentation and connecting them with available support services.
  4. Help claimants monitor their claim status and navigate the appeals process.
  5. Inform individuals about the claims process and expected settlement timelines.
  6. Participate in training sessions to enhance claims support effectiveness.
  7. Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to changing circumstances.
Required Qualifications:
  1. At least three years of relevant experience.
  2. Diploma in Social Work.
  3. Ability to establish trust and communicate effectively with individuals experiencing (intergenerational) trauma.
  4. Proficient in using technology and online platforms.
  5. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  6. Willingness to travel across Canada.
  7. Provide virtual assistance to claimants via phone, internet, or in-person meetings.
Additional Advantages:
  1. Familiarity with Indigenous regional governance frameworks.
  2. Understanding of Indigenous culture, history, and the impacts of trauma.
  3. Knowledge of colonial policies and their implications for Indigenous communities.
  4. Fluency in an Indigenous language is a valuable asset.
