We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team at BC Cancer in Kelowna, BC. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and effective dispensing of medications to our patients.
Key Responsibilities- Process medication orders that have been clinically reviewed and approved by a pharmacist.
- Receive and verify prescriptions from practitioners, ensuring they are complete and authentic.
- Prepare and process prescriptions, including counting, measuring, packaging, and compounding medications.
- Verify the accuracy and completeness of dispensed prescriptions, including checking order entries and performing final checks.
- Enter and maintain accurate records of medication verification and quality assurance checks.
- Maintain inventory levels and perform related clerical duties, such as keyboarding and filing.
- Current registration as a Pharmacy Technician with the College of Pharmacists of British Columbia.
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Ability to deal with others effectively and maintain a safe and respectful work environment.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
- Ability to keyboard and operate related equipment.
