Production Stacker Specialist

Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Stacker Operator for our production facility. This role is essential in ensuring the efficient operation of machinery and the quality of products produced.
Key Responsibilities:
- Adhere to the directives of the Knifeman and collaborate effectively as part of a team.
- Provide support to the Knifeman as needed.
- Assist in troubleshooting and maintaining machine performance to meet production targets.
- Ensure that products are stacked correctly and organized.
- Reorganize sheets as necessary to address any warping issues.
- Conduct visual inspections and remove any defective sheets.
- Operate and monitor the label applicator, sheet inserter, and skid inserter.
- Attach load tags for order identification as required.
- Perform quality assessments before and during production runs.
- Communicate any quality concerns to the wet end team.
- Make necessary adjustments to the BHS Stacker, Labeler, and other equipment.
- Prepare machinery for end-of-shift shutdowns, which may include overtime.
- Comply with all ISO and HACCP standards.
- Regularly check and refill oil levels as necessary.
- Lubricate and maintain the dry end of the corrugator as required.
- Maintain cleanliness by performing housekeeping duties, including conveyor and roller clean-up.
- Clean the slitter-scorer-knife prior to maintenance activities.
- Report any issues to the Knifeman or supervisor promptly.
- Conduct daily clean-up and preventive maintenance at the end of each shift.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned.
Safety Responsibilities:
- Follow specific lockout/tagout procedures for equipment.
- Complete daily checklists for mobile equipment before use.
- Report any hazards or issues to your supervisor immediately.
Additional safety tools are available when hazard ratings are low, including:
- Pre-use inspection forms
- Work request submissions via Manager Plus
- Hazard reporting forms
- Immediate reporting of injuries or incidents to supervisors
Maintain a safe and clean working environment by adhering to health and safety regulations and good housekeeping practices. Proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory, including gloves, safety glasses, and hearing protection.
Qualifications:
Education: Minimum Grade 10 with basic math skills.
Essential Skills:
- Previous experience in manufacturing is advantageous.
- Proficient machine operation skills.
- Strong organizational abilities.
- Effective communication skills.
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts.
- A collaborative team player.
- Self-motivated and proactive.
