Job Summary

We're seeking an experienced and skilled individual who is knowledgeable about meat, passionate about providing high-quality cuts, and able to manage a team of butchers while maintaining excellent customer service.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for cutting, trimming, and packaging meat to specification, ensuring high yields and minimal waste. They will also develop and maintain product specifications for all cuts of meat, train and supervise staff, and create cost-effective schedules.

As a Meat Production Specialist, you'll work closely with management to develop and implement new products and services. You'll also be responsible for maintaining relationships with local farmers and suppliers to ensure a steady supply of high-quality meat.

About the Role
  • Cut, trim, and package meat to specification, ensuring high yields and minimal waste
  • Develop and maintain product specifications for all cuts of meat
  • Train and supervise staff to ensure consistent quality and performance
  • Create cost-effective schedules and manage the day-to-day operations of the butcher shop
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed
  • Maintain relationships with local farmers and suppliers
Requirements
  • Previous experience in a head butcher or similar position
  • Extensive knowledge of meat, including cutting, trimming, and packaging
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to manage a team
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
