About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Building Maintenance Worker to join our team at 3059308 Nova Scotia Ltd. o/a HI Dartmouth. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our building's systems and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • System Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing, and electrical systems to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Contractor Management: Coordinate with external contractors for repairs and maintenance of the building, ensuring timely and cost-effective solutions.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform minor repairs on appliances and equipment, as well as routine cleaning and maintenance tasks.
  • Safety and Security: Conduct regular safety and security checks to identify and mitigate potential risks.
  • Physical Labor: Move heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies as needed, and perform other physically demanding tasks.
  • Grounds Maintenance: Water and tend to plants, lawns, and/or gardens, and perform other routine maintenance tasks.
  • Work Environment: Work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision, and be able to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 1 to less than 7 months of experience in a related field.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs), and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Language: Fluency in English.
Working Conditions

This is a permanent, full-time position, working 30 to 40 hours per week. The ideal candidate will be a team player with excellent communication skills, initiative, and a strong work ethic.
