POSITION OVERVIEW
The Maintenance Electrician is responsible for ensuring the operational efficiency of all production and auxiliary machinery within the facility. This role involves executing preventative maintenance tasks on equipment as instructed by the Lead Hand.
KEY RELATIONSHIPS
- Collaborate effectively with fellow team members and all staff
- Engage in daily discussions with the Lead Hand, maintenance colleagues, department heads, and machine operators
- Occasionally liaise with personnel from other departments regarding machinery repairs and upkeep
- Interact with contractors and suppliers concerning maintenance initiatives
FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain cleanliness in maintenance workshops and storage areas
- Ensure equipment is cleaned post-maintenance tasks
- Adhere to established safety protocols
- Implement lockout procedures before conducting adjustments or repairs on machinery
- Report any unsafe conditions or equipment malfunctions to the Lead Hand
- Compile a list of necessary parts for specific tasks
- Address electrical issues on production equipment
- Diagnose and promptly repair malfunctioning machinery
- Execute electrical installations in compliance with the Electrical Code
- Utilize electrical and mechanical hand tools competently
- Document maintenance activities and reorder parts as needed
- Engage constructively with service and maintenance teams
- Perform additional duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS
- High School Diploma
- Provincial Journeyman Electrical Certification
- Preference will be given to candidates with dual qualifications as an Electrician and Instrumentation Technician
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- 3-5 years of relevant experience
- Familiarity with company operational and procedural guidelines
