Position: Associate Acoustic Engineer
The Acoustics, Noise, and Vibration division at Thornton Tomasetti specializes in managing sound and vibration within structures, which is crucial for the success of numerous projects.
As an Associate Acoustic Engineer, your primary objective will be to improve occupant safety and comfort across a diverse array of buildings while optimizing sound quality in auditory environments. You will collaborate closely with clients, architects, engineers, and contractors on a global scale, overseeing multiple projects and guiding a team of engineers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize scientific methods to resolve engineering challenges.
- Gather and evaluate data, conducting field investigations worldwide.
- Direct project teams and provide mentorship to junior engineers.
- Develop technical documentation, proposals, and promotional materials.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related scientific field; advanced degrees are advantageous.
- Background in acoustics, noise, and vibration management within structures.
- Proficiency with sound and vibration measurement tools and modeling software.
- Strong understanding of regulatory standards and guidelines.
- Capability to interpret technical schematics.
Compensation:
The typical annual base salary for this role ranges from $105,000 to $135,000 CAD, supplemented by additional bonuses and benefits. Compensation will be assessed based on various factors.
