Job Title: Finish Carpenter

We are seeking a skilled Finish Carpenter to join our team at KFM Business Solutions Inc. as a key member of our construction team.

Job Summary:

The Finish Carpenter will be responsible for ensuring that all construction projects are completed to the highest standards of quality and safety. This includes preparing estimates of labour and material costs, preparing layouts in conformance to building codes, and measuring, cutting, shaping, assembling, and joining materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare estimates of labour and/or material costs
  • Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials
  • Prepare tenders and quotations
  • Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems
  • Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware
  • Schedule and co-ordinate work on sites
  • Estimate costs and materials
  • Operate CADD and other computer software systems
  • Maintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants and other establishments
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • 5 years or more of experience in the field
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to lift heavy loads and work in a physically demanding environment
