Morrison Hershfield, a leading engineering and consulting firm, is seeking a skilled Junior Inspector to join our Transportation Division.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering or a related field, with experience in inspection and quality control. As a Junior Inspector, you will play a key role in ensuring that our projects meet the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct field inspections to ensure compliance with contract requirements
  • Document site activities and gather relevant information on contractor operations
  • Provide support to senior inspection staff and quality assurance teams
  • Assist in monitoring contractor quality control activities and compiling field data for review
  • Support quantity and payment verification, as well as contract administration tasks

Requirements:

  • Enrolled in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology/Technician program
  • Designation as a Road Construction Junior Inspector (RCJI) Technology/Technician is an asset
  • Previous engineering/construction experience is an asset
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Proficiency with MS Office
  • A valid Ontario driver's license and access to a vehicle

Working Conditions:

  • Ability to work on weekends, nights, shift work, and additional hours as required
  • Ability to travel and work in the greater Cornwall and surrounding area
