We are seeking a highly skilled Health and Safety Coordinator to join our Buildings Division team at EllisDon. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring a safe working environment for our employees and subcontractors.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct safety orientations, job site inspections, and investigate accidents/injuries to identify areas for improvement.
- Develop and implement training programs on WHMIS, Fall Protection, Personal Protective Equipment, and CPR/First Aid to ensure compliance with safety procedures.
- Monitor employees and subcontractors on-site to ensure adherence to safety protocols and escalate any issues to resolution.
- Proactively identify and mitigate hazardous situations, and delegate tasks to ensure safety rules and regulations are followed.
- Minimum 2-4 years of experience in managing health and safety in construction.
- Working towards or certified under the Occupational Health & Safety Act/Regulations, with experience working on large-scale construction sites and holding a National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) certificate.
- College degree or certificate in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field is an asset.
- Experience with COR process certification is an advantage.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel.
