Job Title: Executive Director, Indigenization and Hazelton Campus

Coast Mountain College is seeking a highly skilled and experienced leader to fill the role of Executive Director, Indigenization and Hazelton Campus. This position plays a critical role in advancing the college's Indigenous community engagement and furthering the Indigenization Strategic Plan.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead CMTN's Indigenous community engagement planning and further the Indigenization Strategic Plan.
  • Attend events and serve on working groups regarding Indigenization.
  • Engage with local communities and other partners, such as the School District and employers.
  • Develop, lead, and track internal initiatives and engage in robust external relations.
  • Provide leadership to the Indigenization Department, including vision, strategy, goal-setting, and the departmental action plan.
  • Support CMTN as an employer to infuse Indigenization through all aspects of the institution.
  • Manage the Hazelton Campus budget and propose ASP funding for First Nations Council.
  • Oversee facilities responsibility, including the Hazelton Campus and support for potential local college capital projects.
  • Engage in committee work, including stewardship of First Nations Council and serving as a member of the President's Council and leadership team.
Requirements:
  • In-depth understanding of history, cultural values, traditions, and protocols of Northwest Coast Indigenous peoples.
  • Completed bachelor's degree from a recognized institution; master's degree preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience of three or more years of leadership in a community or organization, including the leadership of staff.
  • Skilled at creating a vision, developing strategies, and providing evidence in a written format.
  • Ability to function effectively across cultures, particularly within Indigenous communities and across campus units.
  • Experience working in a unionized environment is preferred.
  • A people-based leadership style that brings people together.
  • A demonstrated ability to work independently or collaboratively in a team or project setting.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel through the region as required.
