About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Carpenter to join our team at Edge Finishing & Carpentry Ltd. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality carpentry services to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Estimating and Planning
    • Prepare detailed estimates of labour and material costs for carpentry projects
    • Develop and implement project plans to ensure timely completion and quality standards
  • Carpentry and Construction
    • Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, and other materials
    • Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems
    • Fabricate and install cabinets, shelving, and other woodwork
  • Project Management
    • Schedule and coordinate work on construction sites
    • Manage and maintain a safe and healthy work environment
  • Quality Control
    • Ensure all carpentry work meets quality standards and building codes
    • Conduct regular site inspections to identify and address any quality issues
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
    • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in carpentry or a related field
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques and building codes
    • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Work Environment
    • Construction sites and workshops
    • Varied work schedule, including evenings and weekends
