Key Responsibilities- Estimating and Planning
- Prepare detailed estimates of labour and material costs for carpentry projects
- Develop and implement project plans to ensure timely completion and quality standards
- Carpentry and Construction
- Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, and other materials
- Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems
- Fabricate and install cabinets, shelving, and other woodwork
- Project Management
- Schedule and coordinate work on construction sites
- Manage and maintain a safe and healthy work environment
- Quality Control
- Ensure all carpentry work meets quality standards and building codes
- Conduct regular site inspections to identify and address any quality issues
- Education and Experience
- Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
- 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in carpentry or a related field
- Skills and Abilities
- Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques and building codes
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
