Job Summary:
The Government of Saskatchewan is seeking a highly motivated individual to fill the role of Boreal Landscape Analyst. This position will be responsible for collaborating with regional teams to assess the current state of forest landscape health, interpreting geospatial information to assess landscape level forest management plan targets, and conducting field assessments to ensure compliance with forest management plans.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with regional teams to conduct assessments of forest landscape health and develop recommendations for improvement.
- Interpret geospatial information to assess landscape level forest management plan targets and identify areas for improvement.
- Conduct field assessments to ensure compliance with forest management plans and identify areas for improvement.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve forest landscape health and ensure sustainable forest management practices.
- Communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders, including government officials, forest industry representatives, and the public.
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science degree in forestry, ecology, or related biological science.
- Experience in forest landscape ecology or forest management.
- Strong understanding of sustainable forest management practices and forest operations in Canada.
- Knowledge of landscape level ecological processes and their influence on both the availability of habitat and productive commercial forest.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
