About the Opportunity

The Squamish Nation is seeking a skilled Healthcare Support Worker to join our team in the Yúustway Health and Wellness Department. As a key member of our Home and Community Care (HCC) division, you will provide essential care and support to clients in their homes, promoting their independence and well-being.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide personal care and light homemaking services to clients, including basic housekeeping, bathing, and dressing.
  • Assist clients with medication management, meal preparation, and other daily living activities.
  • Support clients with mobility and transfer needs, ensuring their safety and comfort.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to enhance your skills and knowledge in healthcare support.

Requirements

  • Combination of relevant experience, education, and training in healthcare support.
  • Professional, adaptable communication style with strong interpersonal skills.
  • High level of emotional intelligence, patience, and integrity.
  • Maintains composure in high-pressure situations.
  • Team-oriented with a positive, approachable attitude.
