The Student's Society of McGill University (SSMU) is actively seeking individuals to join our mission. With a vibrant community of over 20,000 members, SSMU has been dedicated to representing student interests and providing essential services since its inception in 1908.

Position Overview

*PLEASE NOTE THIS IS AN UNPAID AND NON-VOTING POSITION*

According to the SSMU Constitution, the International Student Representative is invited to attend Board of Directors meetings as a guest. This role does not include voting rights or participation in quorum establishment. It is important to clarify that the International Student Representative is not classified as a Director.

The Board of Directors (BoD) serves as the highest governing authority within the Society, tasked with overseeing key decisions regarding operations, financial management, human resources, and corporate governance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Attend Board of Directors meetings as a guest, contributing insights in a non-voting capacity.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must meet BOTH of the following criteria to qualify for the role of International Student Representative:

Must be a member of SSMU; Must qualify as an International Student within the SSMU Membership.

Considerations for Selection:

Demonstrated understanding of SSMU and its governance framework; Relevant experience in financial, operational, and legal domains.

Additional Details

Application Deadline : To be announced Position Type : Volunteer, unpaid Expected Commitment : Approximately 4 hours per month, as needed
