Job Title: Bar Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Bar Manager to join our team at HI Port Hawkesbury. As a Bar Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our bar, ensuring exceptional customer service, and maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for our guests.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Determine the type of services to be offered and implement operational procedures to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.
  • Enforce provincial and territorial liquor legislation and regulations, ensuring compliance and minimizing risk.
  • Organize and maintain inventory, negotiating arrangements with suppliers for food and other supplies as needed.
  • Negotiate with clients for catering or use of facilities, providing excellent customer service and ensuring a positive experience.
  • Participate in marketing plans and implementation, contributing to the growth and success of our business.
  • Lead and instruct individuals, providing guidance and support to ensure a high-performing team.
  • Address customer complaints or concerns, resolving issues promptly and professionally.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring a welcoming and inclusive environment for all guests.
  • Manage events, planning and executing successful events that meet the needs of our clients and guests.
  • Plan, organize, direct, control, and evaluate daily operations, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness in all aspects of bar management.
Requirements:
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Permanent employment with a minimum of 30 to 35 hours per week.
  • Fluency in English, with excellent oral communication skills.
Work Environment:

Our bar is a fast-paced and dynamic environment, requiring attention to detail, flexibility, and the ability to work under pressure. As a Bar Manager, you will be required to stand for extended periods, with a combination of sitting, standing, and walking throughout the day.
