Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sustainability Manager to join our team at Uniqlo Canada. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading our sustainability initiatives, managing our environmental impact, and promoting our corporate social responsibility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Team Management:
    • Lead the development and implementation of our global sustainability strategy
    • Manage a team of local sustainability professionals to ensure alignment with priorities and projects
    • Provide clear direction and oversight for sustainability projects, including presentations, reports, and proposals
    • Ensure daily and annual management of the team, including regular check-ins, evaluations, and feedback
  • Sustainability Management & Project Lead:
    • Create strategic and seasonal plans for sustainability initiatives and manage the overall sustainability calendar
    • Support global projects and drive new initiatives with cross-functional teams, including stores and head office
    • Monitor, report, and evaluate the effectiveness of sustainability projects
    • Nurture relationships with internal stakeholders and directors to ensure understanding and support of sustainability activities
    • Engage with external stakeholders, including NGOs and partners, to promote sustainability and social responsibility
  • Reporting & Compliance:
    • Monitor and report sustainability KPIs, including energy and CO2 reduction measures, HR, and recycling
    • Ensure compliance with government regulations and industry standards
    • Submit reports on a timely basis and coordinate with relevant teams, including Finance, Marketing, and Logistics
  • Business Development:
    • Support the development and opening of ReUniqlo studios across the local market
    • Plan strategies and opportunities for ReUniqlo within the local market
    Requirements
    • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in corporate sustainability, ESG, environmental management, or related areas, preferably in the retail or consumer goods sector
    • Experience in different aspects of sustainability, including People, Planet, Society, and Community engagement
    • Strong business acumen, communication, interpersonal, influencing, and relationship-building skills
    • Experience working with people from other cultures
    • A strong understanding of sustainability topics and the ability to drive change
