About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accounting Manager to join our team at Arctic Gateway Group. As a key member of our accounting team, you will be responsible for providing daily operational support to our Controller and supervising staff to ensure accuracy and timely completion of accounting tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and mentor the accounting team to ensure accuracy and timely completion of tasks
  • Full cycle bookkeeping, including month-end/year-end processes, journal entries, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and working papers
  • Ensure deadlines are met for Federal and Provincial remittances
  • Manage reconciliation of bank accounts, expenses, and corporate credit cards
  • Support Government Grant Funding reporting and data analysis
  • Review reconciliation and reporting for inventory control
  • Prepare various reports to support business decisions
  • Assist in the design and implementation of improvements to accounting workflows
  • Support ad-hoc projects that add value to the organization
Requirements
  • Secondary Accounting Diploma or equivalent experience in a similar role
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in full cycle accounting with a minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and full cycle accounting
  • Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office, with a preference for QBO, Dext, Approval Max, or other related software
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with Government Grant Funding reporting and payroll services considered an asset
