Position: Land Analyst (Hybrid-Fulltime) – Intermediate to Senior

We are currently seeking a skilled Land Analyst to join our team in a hybrid capacity, working from both home and the office. This role is available in our Calgary or Grande Prairie locations.

About BASE Land & Environmental

Our company specializes in land and environmental consulting, catering to a diverse clientele in industries such as pipeline construction, power transmission, transportation, telecommunications, oil and gas exploration, renewable energy, and mineral rights acquisition.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establishing new project files within our database, ensuring updates are accurately recorded and project statuses are maintained
  • Conducting land title searches, corporate investigations, and managing registrations
  • Overseeing the administration of Directive 056 notification programs
  • Drafting requests for third-party agreements and consents
  • Preparing surface legal documents and associated paperwork
  • Commissioning affidavits as required
  • Submitting Crown applications for land disposition
  • Identifying relevant stakeholders in accordance with provincial regulations
  • Performing self-audits of work outputs to ensure quality
  • Staying informed on local news and developments
  • Issuing third-party agreements
  • Managing monthly surface and mineral rental payments
  • Carrying out additional duties as necessary

Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of experience for intermediate level; 3-5 years for senior level in a related field
  • Preferred diploma in Land Administration
  • Experience in Oil & Gas, power transmission, and distribution sectors
  • Familiarity with AER and BCER regulations and procedures
  • Understanding of AUC and power-related processes
  • Valid Commissioner for Oaths certification
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Canadian and provincial regulatory frameworks and land systems
  • Quick learner with strong organizational skills
  • Self-driven and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Team-oriented with the ability to work independently
  • Strong interpersonal skills for building effective relationships with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Proficient in standard office applications, including word processing and spreadsheets (MS Office is advantageous)
  • Experience with various land systems
  • Knowledge of Alberta Freehold and Crown Acquisition; BC experience is a plus
  • FNC submission and administration experience is beneficial
  • Familiarity with P2 and CS Explorer is considered an asset

Job Type: Full-time

Compensation: $60,000.00 - $90,000.00 annually
