The Position

We are seeking a Junior Mechanical Designer to join our team. As a Junior Mechanical Designer, you will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology from conception to product launch. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting in new development activities
  • Creating designs and drawings of mechanical components and assemblies using Solid Works CAD software
  • Supporting the definition of product test requirements and executing tests in our onsite R&D lab
  • Helping with product handoff to manufacturing and in-field implementation throughout Canada and the USA
  • Participating in initial and ongoing design and technical reviews
  • Assisting in managing the drawing database
  • Performing other engineering-related activities as required
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Mechanical Engineering degree or diploma from a recognized university or college
  • Creativity for product development
  • Computer knowledge and skills with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Solid Works or similar CAD software
  • Good communication skills to collaborate with customers and multiple-disciplinary teams
  • An energetic, diligent work ethic and ability to work with little supervision
  • Able to travel within Canada, the USA, and internationally as required
