About the Role

MJS Tax Services, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Senior Accounting Professional to join our team. As a key member of our accounting department, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with all relevant accounting standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and detailed financial records, including general ledgers, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
  • Financial Statement Preparation: Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Accounting Software Management: Manage and maintain our accounting software, including QuickBooks and Caseware/Caseview.
  • Tax Preparation: Prepare and file tax returns for individuals and businesses.
  • Financial Analysis: Analyze financial data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards and regulations.
Requirements
  • Education: College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years.
  • Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in accounting or a related field.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and proficiency in accounting software.
Working Conditions

This is a permanent, full-time position with a 37.5 hour workweek. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.
