Role SummaryThe Analyst, Energy Infrastructure position will report directly to the Director of Energy Markets and collaborate closely with the Energy Markets team, as well as various internal and external project stakeholders, including Business Development, Finance, Operations, Product, and Executive teams.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Evaluating energy markets and enhancing operational strategies while assessing potential development opportunities.
- Conducting intricate energy and financial modeling, along with investment analysis for energy storage systems across key North American markets.
- Developing financial models that capture the complete value stack of projects in diverse energy markets.
- Understanding the critical dynamics of major ISO regions, including optimal site configurations, operational strategies, regulatory changes, and pricing for various value stacks across different market regions.
- Identifying opportunities to enhance operational performance, efficiency, and scalability, contributing to the growth of Peak Power's electric asset portfolio.
- Presenting models, market insights, investment analyses, and innovative solutions to senior leadership to support strategic decision-making.
You will engage with cross-functional team members to gain insights into all aspects of Distributed Energy Resources (DER) projects and their value stacks in key markets where Peak Power operates.
Your role will also involve:
- Interfacing with investors and capital partners on green-field project development and asset acquisitions.
- Building strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in renewable energy projects within North America, with experience in energy storage projects being advantageous.
- Knowledge of wholesale energy markets across North American ISOs.
- At least 2 years of experience in financial modeling and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- An understanding of project finance and development concepts.
- Experience presenting financial information to Director and Executive-level management of both internal and external stakeholders is a plus.
- Familiarity with Python is considered beneficial.
