The Transforming Climate Action (TCA) research and training program, managed by the Ocean Frontier Institute (OFI) at Dalhousie University, brings together over 170 researchers from four partner universities. The program's scientific strategy has three key objectives: reducing uncertainty, mitigating climate change, and adapting equitably. The MacEachen Institute serves as the Policy Transformation Accelerator for the TCA program. The Associate Director, Oceans, will provide operational and strategic leadership in identifying and communicating ocean-climate policy priorities relevant to the TCA program's research themes. This role involves working with research clusters, interacting with external bodies, and leading the development and execution of policy transformation activities. The successful applicant will have a Master's degree in a related field and 5 years of experience in public policy, public administration, law, government relations, or public affairs. They will also have experience as an outstanding oceans/marine/coastal researcher and demonstrated experience in media and public relations. The Associate Director, Oceans, will be responsible for managing multi-year research projects, budget, and staff, as well as supervising the Project Coordinator, Oceans. The compensation for this role is $65,000 to $70,000 per year.
